About me
For as long as I can remember, I've always been into writing, but it probably kicked off properly when I was 8, after one of my poems got accepted into a poetry anthology as part of a competition. After that, I was writing poetry whenever I had spare time, as well as a few short stories. 2005 was when I started writing longer stories, and since then, I've not really stopped writing stories.
Writing, whether it be poetry, prose or even cryptic letters, has dramatically changed my life, especially in recent times, where things have been a little rough for me. It has allowed me to express myself in situations where it would normally be nigh on impossible to do conventionally. There's also something satisfying, I find, about thinking up an idea, whether it be on a bus journey, in the shower or even in a dream, ironing it out, letting it blossom and come to fruition on a page and people falling in love with your work afterwards. The latter two I find exceptionally rewarding and they are two of the main things that keep me going with my writing.
Perhaps the best highlights of my writing "career" so far was talking to Andrew Motion, an ex-poet laureate for the UK about my work. He seemed genuinely fascinated by where I draw my inspirations from and how I go about writing in general. And when he wished me good luck in my writing, I felt extremely honoured and very overwhelmed. Two words may not seem like much, but it was momentous for me and something I hold close to my heart.
One of the things people ask of me (and Andrew Motion was no exception) is "How do you write?"/"How do you write so well?" or "Where do you get your inspiration from?" My answer to the former would be I don't really know, I've always had an affinity for writing and it just seems as natural to me as breathing. The answer to the latter is much more simple; nature and bus journeys. Most of my ideas, no matter what fandom they are for or if it's poetry or prose come from observing nature or when I'm journeying around (usually on a bus).
So, that's the writing side of me. What about me in general? Well, I try to be calm most of the time, but I do have crazy bouts (not mentioning any specific piece of writing here... ;P). Like anyone, I do get angry and upset; not often, but you'll know about it when I do. Generally, I think I'm fun to be around when mood permits, and if you can take my random, insane nature, then we are sure to get along just fine.
However, I do know when to be serious, and will gladly try and help people out with a problem if I think I can help. Even if they think they don't need help, because I'm kind like that ^.^.
And that's me - a friendly, sometimes crazy, selfless writer prone to bouts of randomness :D.
